PURPOSE OF STUDENT LEADERSHIP INITIATIVE

​​The Student Leadership Initiative is a Leadership Development Team program for EFC-Eastern Region high school and college age students who are sensing a call to Christian leadership. ​Student leadership retreat


Held at Camp Gideon the same weekend as Yearly Meeting sessions, the retreat is an opportunity to worship, fellowship and engage with other young leaders while learning vital leadership principles.

horizon certificate program


A year long, self-guided certificate program aimed at developing the four key components to Christian Leadership - Calling, Character, Competency and Connection. The young leader will earn credits through the year in these four areas while exploring their leadership gifting in service at their local Friends church.

​student internships


The best way to learn to do ministry is to do ministry! We invite students 4-8 week internships (usually summertime) at their local church to start engaging in ministry. We encourage students to work closely with their youth pastor/pastor with intentional, simple activities to help start the ministry journey.
