Dr. Thomas CrawfordExecutive directorTom began serving as the Executive Director of EFC-ER in August 2017. He is also the lead pastor of Morningside Church in Port Saint Lucie, FL, where he has ministered since 1984. Previously, Tom was the lead pastor at Orange Friends Church, associate pastor at Finley Methodist Church, and a youth pastor and director of special music at Lockwood United Methodist Church. Tom aims to see others come to Christ, to see others use their gifts in ministry, and to watch people become worshipers of God through their personal worship times and through lifestyles of worship. He and his wife, Pat have 2 adult children and 8 grandchildren. He enjoys spending time with family, water skiing, boating, basketball, golf, and travel. Tom also plays piano, organ, and other instruments.

Pastor Dave MercadanteMINISTRY DIRECTOR OF leadership developmentWe are pleased to announce that the Oversight Board has unanimously approved Dave Mercadante EFC-ER Director of Leadership Development. Dave has accepted the invitation to join the EFC-ER team with March 1, 2021 being his official start date. He served most recently as the Senior Pastor of Poplar Ridge Friends Meeting in Trinity, North Carolina and as Ministry Director of Atlantic Friends Christian Ministries. In 2017, Dave founded Love InDeed, a non-profit ministry that serves under-resourced residents of Randolph county, NC. He studied at Gordon-Conwell Theological Seminary, earning a Doctorate in Ministry (’19), a Master’s Degree at Wake Forest University Divinity School (’08) and a Bachelor of Arts in Religion from High Point University (’03).
Dave has been married to Emily for 15 years and they have four children: Lucy, Maggie, Oliver and Hope. Some of his pass times include reading, running, gardening, chess, and maintaining his hobby farm (with goats and chickens!). We are grateful for God’s provision and leading in our search process. Together with Dave we look forward to equipping leaders that build healthy disciples, and they in turn will build healthy churches. |
PASTor rusty savageMINistry director of multiplicationRusty joined the EFC-ER team in October 2019. His ministry focus is in the areas of church planting, international partnerships, and cross-cultural ministry in North America. Before joining the EFC-ER staff, he served in pastoral ministry for 17 years and loved (almost) every minute of it! Rusty and his wife, Kara have four young children and live in Damascus, Ohio. Rusty’s passion is to see people join God in His mission to the world as devoted disciples of Jesus.

Marie haginAdministrative AssistantMarie began working with EFC-ER in October 2017. She is currently managing the database, mailings, and working with our churches and pastors when assistance is need.. She and her husband Kenny, lead pastor of Deerfield Friends Church, have been married since October 1984. They enjoy taking day trips, motorcycle rides, and reading. Marie’s hope for EFC-ER is to see continued growth in our churches.
Juliana SpiveyCommunications CoordinatorJuliana Spivey began working as our new Communications Coordinator in October, 2020. Juliana graduated from Kent State University at Stark in May of 2019. Her grandfather served as her pastor at Brewster Friends until he retired when she was 14 years old. Juliana enjoys reading, hiking, riding bikes, walks with her dogs, playing video games with her seven younger siblings, and taking road trips.
