Introduction to Church Health | Lonnie Bullock, Executive Director of New Church Specialties | E-101 |
This workshop is designed to assist churches in answering an important question: “Are you focusing on the fruit (how many people) or are you focusing on the root (producing disciples)?” The Church Health Team is resourcing churches to assess the health of the church in producing fully devoted followers of Christ. During this workshop we will introduce an assessment tool and explore how to best use it helping churches move to increased health. |
Hero Maker: A Shift in the Church Planting Culture |
Darla Sivewright, New Church Specialties and Multiplication Team Members: Pastors Brian Donahue, Mike Dennis, Samuel Huang, Zach Bohler, and Paul Hoffman |
L-1,2,3 | Church planting is the most effective way to spread the gospel in this day and age. Our desire to multiply comes from a desire to build the kingdom of God and make disciples that will do the same, not to make heroes of ourselves. Multiplication is about much more than church buildings and numbers; it's about making disciples who will make disciples who will make disciples. We need more men and women who are willing to be hero makers rather than heroes. We need pastors who are willing to challenge and train others to do the work of kingdom building. In this workshop we will discuss the "hero maker" mentality as it applies to planting churches. |
Time Bomb in the Church: Defusing Pastoral Burnout | Randy Heckert, EFC-ER Ministry Director | L-43 |
Healthy pastors lead healthy churches. And yet, pastoral burnout has become epidemic throughout American church culture. Unrealistic expectations, long hours, and lack of rest are major contributors. This session will offer alarming but helpful information as EFC-ER Ministry Director Randy Heckert reviews, unpacks, and applies the book “Time Bomb in the Church: Defusing Pastoral Burnout” by Daniel Spaite, M.D. |
Creating a Culture of Generosity | Ed Walsh, EFC-ER Ministry Director | L-42 |
God is a generous God. He gives immeasurably out of His amazing abundance. As followers of Jesus, we too can live in abundance and generosity. This seminar, led by Ed Walsh, EFC-ER’s Director of Finance & Administration, will explore the assumptions, attitudes and helpful habits in creating a lifestyle of generosity in your own life and a culture of generosity in your church. |
