100 Years Celebrated in Hughesville
Hughesville Friends Church, located in Hughesville, Pennsylvania, celebrated 100 years of ministry with a homecoming weekend July 31st - Aug 1, 2004. General Superintendent, Dr. John P. Williams, Jr. was the keynote speaker and all but one surviving former pastor was in attendance. It was a wonderful weekend of fellowship and music. Saturday evening's Pig Roast, Hymn Sing, and concert set the celebratory tone. Sunday morning's celebration service was followed by a carry- in lunch. Church leaders used this weekend to connect their past with the future as plans for the new Family Life Center were presented to everyone. Submitted by Pastor Dan Cale. Lupton Friends -125 Years Sunday morning, Area Superintendent, Rev. Wayne Evans welcomed new Pastor John Powell and his wife, Ruth, to the Lupton Friends Church. The Sunday morning service was followed by a catered meal and special times of fellowship for all. Achilles Friends - 90 Years |
