As of January 2014, Dr. Wayne Evans was appointed as General Superintendent.
Since 1992, Evans served the EFC-ER as the Western Area Superintendent. In that role, he pastored the pastors of the churches in four districts in the western part of the Eastern Region. In the years since then, he has also been assigned a leadership role with the Haitian ministries in Haiti, the United States, and the Dominican Republic. He and Haitian missionary, Rev. William Bertrand, founded the mission work in the DR in 2001 which now has three churches. In addition, Evans has served in several other church and community roles, including Chair of the Board of Education at Heritage Christian School and Adjunct Faculty at Malone University. He earned the Doctor of Ministry (DMin) degree from the George Fox Evangelical Seminary in Portland, Oregon in 2005.
The Evans’ (Wayne and Regina) married in 1979 and pastored three churches before coming to serve in the WOC where Regina serves as the Mailings Secretary. They have four children and two grandchildren. Among the schools Dr. Evans attended are Malone University and George Fox Evangelical Seminary. He has taught courses at Malone University, chaired the Board of Education of Heritage Christian School, written commentary for the Adult Friend curriculum, and contributed to books and seminars on the ministry of the Eastern Region. He enjoys travel with Regina, firearms, football, history, and cooking.
Dr. Evans’ lead staff will include Rev. Chris (Nancy) Jackson as the Associate Superintendent, and Rev. Frank (Betsy) Carter as the Assistant Superintendent.
Eastern Area Superintendent
Chris Jackson has been married to Nancy for over 30 years. They have three children and one grandchild. Chris serves as our Eastern Area Superintendent. Before moving to serve the Eastern Area, Chris served as a pastor in EFC-ER churches for over 25 years. Chris has assisted in training leaders for EFC-ER mission fields including India, Nepal, and Haiti. He has recently accepted the role of Director for the Southern Area of India where we have over 20 churches, a hospital, children's home, and village ministries.
