Over one hundred years ago...

Evangelical Friends established a hospital in India to minister for Christ. Through the years, our missions work grew in numbers and ministries.

Today, most full-time missionaries in India are nationals, working among their own people.

Rev. Gabriel & Suzanna Massey
Central India

Through C.O.R.N. Ministry (Christian Organization for Rural Nurture), Gabriel and Suzanna Massey work with a variety of outreach groups to creatively and practically help the needy in villages:
  • Community health teams provide medical help in rural villages
  • Evangelism and Gospel distribution to thousands
  • Sewing classes train women in marketable skills with which to earn an income

Dr. Massey Continues to lead evangelistic services and to provide leadership training at the Christian English Hospital and School in Chatarpur.

Christian School and Hospital in Chatarpur
Central India

Since it's beginning, the Christian Hospital in Chatarpur has grown dramatically. The hospital was originally opened to serve only women and children. Today, they serve the entire family with over 10,000 outpatients and an additional 4,500 patients admitted each year. They are pleased to announce that 1,113 babies were delivered at the hospital last year.

A significant part of their ministry is in the area of eye care including cataract surgery, Glaucoma, and Trachoma. Over 8,400 people received care through the hospital's eye clinics and rural camps. Medical teams provide care to the remote villages where medical treatment is not regularly available. These teams also offer spiritual help through evangelistic services, prayer, and passing out written materials to those seeking help with a deeper need.

Please pray for Hospital Administrator, Dr. Sunny Kuruvilla, along with doctors, nurses, aids and workers at the hospital. Pray that God will lead, protect, and continue to bless them as they minister in India.

Christ's love has a practical touch in the hospital and through the teachers at the Christian English College and School. Pray that God will continue to bring committed missionary-minded teachers to the school.

Arun & Shobha Massey
South Western India

Only four years ago, Arun and Shobha Massey established Rahab's Trust to rescue little girls from Hindu homes where they would have been destined to grow up as Devadassis (temple prostitutes). Ministry among this caste has led to several new churches and fellowship groups, changing families forever.

Today, the Children's home has scores of girls being educated, living safely, and learning about Christ's love on a daily basis.

Rahab's Trust also holds regular Family Camps. The 3 day camp is attended by nearly 85 people from 8 villages. 25 people opened their hearts to Jesus and 15 took baptism as an outward sign of their inward conversion. Many people were freed from oppression and learned how to truly follow Jesus.

Church fellowships have begun in three villages due to Rahab's Trust leaders. A Boys Home is being planned and they hope to open it next year. A suitable piece of land is being sought for a new Children's home to help more children.

"We are so proud of our staff who are working among people who are looked down upon in Indian society. Living among them they are showing and sharing Christ. We rejoice in what the Lord is accomplishing. - Taken from R.T. Newsletter

P.K. and Mariamma Sam
Southern India

P.K. and Mariamma currently have planted over 15 churches in the southern region of India. One of their greatest needs is for land on which to build churches.

Persecution is common for the new believers. P.K. writes, "But we are becoming stronger and stronger with the power of the Holy Spirit. Glory to His name." Please continue to pray for P.K. and Mariamma as they boldly proclaim Christ in this southern area of India.
