Friends Disaster Service Banquet
Saturday, September 11th, over 185 supporters, volunteers and grateful families traveled from all parts of Ohio, Michigan, North Carolina, Iowa, Indiana, and Virginia to attend the Friends Disaster Service Banquet held in Canton, Ohio.Over $25,500 was collected and thanks to an estate settlement gift of $10,000, FDS received a total of $35,500. FDS Directors Dean & Freeda Johnson wish to thank all who participated in the FDS Banquet this year.
Special guests included Tim and Stacey Penhorwood of Mansfield, Ohio who shared their gratitude to FDS for assistance in re-building their home, with a power point presentation complete with before and after photos. Pastor John Downs of Achilles (VA) Friends Church brought grateful recipient Bill Quisenberry from Achilles, Virginia, simply to attend the banquet as a sign of his gratitude for their new home which was completed in 2004.Plan now to attend next year's Banquet on Saturday, September 10, 2005. What can you expect? Personal Testimonies and pictures of restored homes... and in some cases, restored lives.Expect a warm welcome, fellowship with FDS volunteers from across the country, great food and inspiring stories.
