Gilead Friends Church Celebrates Completion of Multi-Purpose Building

During the Dedication Service, building contractors, The McKnight Group, donated a painting of Jesus washing the feet of the disciples.
Gilead Friends Church, in Gilead, Ohio celebrated the dedication of their new building early in 2004. The auditorium/gymnasium will be used for the Gilead Christian School Athletics during the week, and for worship services on Sunday mornings.

Special cards of invitation were sent to all community people affiliated with the Gilead Christian School and around 1,000 people filled the auditorium for the celebration.

The morning began with a processional of the church elders carrying in the banners which were used in the old sanctuary along with some new banners designed specifically for the new facility. Former Pastor Charles Robinson participated in the ceremony along with Dr. John P. Williams, Jr. and Wayne Evans.

One highlight to the service was the blowing of the shofar (an ancient Jewish horn used to draw the people to worship.) A Celebration Luncheon followed the dedication service.
