Easter Sunrise Celebration a Huge Success |
Eating Cereal Saved Advantage Miles
The Rock Hill Friends Church Children and Youth Groups took a notice in the Barnabas Express seriously. They wanted to help missionaries travel home for furlough this summer, and saved 2500 Advantage Miles by eating specially marked boxes of cereal. Kara Le Grand (11 yrs. old ) and Janna Williams (13 yrs. old) presented the coupons to Dr. John P. Williams, Jr. during a Sunday morning service.

Memorial Day Weekend Marks Beginning of Work for Raisin Center Friends
Memorial Weekend was a busy weekend for Raisin Center Evangelical Friends Church, near Adrian, Michigan. Old bulky fuel oil furnaces were removed and the furnace room completely cleaned in preparation for contractors to begin on Tuesday (5/29) with the installation of new gas furnaces and air conditioning for the entire facility.
At the same time, ground was broken on Saturday (5/26) for the purpose of re-constructing the present carport into a large new foyer. With an all-glass front and lots of light, this will be a wonderful solution to our crowded present situation. A new carport will be constructed, and there will be changes in our landscaping and parking lot.

Portsmouth Friends Demonstrate "There's Room at the Cross for You."
Portsmouth Friends (Portsmouth, RI) used an effective illustration during their Easter morning worship service. They placed a large rough unfinished wooden cross across the altar directly under the pulpit, with the rest of the cross extending out into the center aisle.
The Easter cantata was entitled, "There's Room at the Cross for You" and the message title was, "What brings you to the cross?" At the end of the message, paper and pencils were provided for everyone to write down their issues, prayer concerns, or anything that was on their hearts. They were then encouraged to "come to the cross"where hammers and nails were available and nail them to the cross.
Several visitors were in church that Sunday and everyone, including the visitors, Came to the Cross. It truly reinforced the theme that, "THERE IS ROOM AT THE CROSS FOR YOU!"
