Refresh Our Memories, Strengthen our Hearts, Renew Our Ministries

Yearly Meeting began with two missionary banquets Saturday evening. They were attended by over 700 adults with missionaries and national leaders from Eastern Europe, Guatemala, Haiti, India, Jamaica, Kenya, Taiwan and Texas (Hispanic ministry) at the banquets. Special guest speakers were Arun and Shobha Massey of Rahab's Trust (India) and John and Sangi VanLal (Nepal).

At the Sunday evening service, Dr. John Williams, Jr. challenged us to "Trust the Lord of the Impossible." He urged us to behold His glory, listen to Him, look into His face, and relocate our trust.

Monday morning's general session began with a Concert of Praise & Prayer. For the first time ever, delegates and pastors welcomed the children into the service for this special time.

Monday evening, following a time of sharing and ministry through music at the piano and vocally, Dr. Richard Allen Farmer challenged us concerning "The Lure of Lowered Standards." Dr. Farmer exhorted us not to tamper with the place of worship, the personnel of worship, or the particulars of worship.

Tuesday evening's speaker was Dr. Joe Roher, pastor of Friendswood Friends Church in Friendswood, Texas, and former pastor of Canton First Friends. Dr. Roher powerfully reminded us that God loves us intensely, God wraps us around with encouragement, and God infuses us with hope.
