EFC-ER Announces the 190th Yearly Meeting Sessions

"Hearing His Voice, Living the Choice" will be our theme as Friends across Eastern Region gather July 20-23, 2002, in Canton, Ohio.

We'll begin our sessions Saturday evening with two identical Missions Banquets at Malone College featuring our special guest speakers Russell and Esther Zinn and Bob and Debbie Adhikary. Other highlights for the week will include an extensive booth/display area supplied by each Yearly Meeting Board, compacted business sessions, powerful times of prayer and, as always, those special times of fellowship following Monday and Tuesday's services when ice cream (Monday night) and pie (Tuesday night) bring folks together.

Come to "Be a Blessing and to Be Blessed!"

An Update From Hillary Harrison

In light of the continued unrest in India and the many requests for information, we've asked Hillary to give us an update:

We are so grateful for the prayers, letters and many e-mail letters of support and concern regarding the situation between India and Pakistan. As many of you know, the situation is not a new one. There has been tension for years and there is often this type of posturing at the border. The difference now is a greater Western presence in this region of the world (a good thing!). Although it is true that the State Department has issued a statement regarding the return of ex-patriots to their homeland, the pulse of those of us here is that it is safe to stay. Our EFC-ER leadership has been in close touch, and we are taking some special precautions. I continue to feel secure and at peace staying in India.

The ministry in Chhatarpur is going on with the leading of the Holy Spirit. We are so grateful for His provisions and sustaining power. A few more badly needed doctors have joined at the Hospital. The temperatures have been between 115-120 F, so the hospital has been full of patients suffering from heat stroke, malaria, meningitis, hepatitis and other maladies usual for this time of year. The students will return to our Christian English School July 1st. The temperature will come down and the monsoons will begin!

Please continue to join us in prayer that The Lord Jesus will continue to intervene in this current situation and peace would come swiftly. It is a time of opportunity for the Gospel of Jesus Christ to be preached through love and support of our Hindu and Muslim friends who don't yet know Jesus.

Much love and thanks to everyone in our wonderful family! In Christ,

Hillary Harrison
